A Clinical Study on Effectiveness of Minocin in Pelvic Infection

Abstract
With the use of broad spectrum antibiotics, a temporary decrease took place in the incidence of pelvic infections. However, the constant increase in bacterial resistance has made it necessary to continue the search for newer and more potent antibiotics.
In 1967 Martell and Booth have synthetized Minocin by modifying the tetracycline.
A clinical study has been conducted to determine the effectiveness of Minocin, following infusion of daily 200mg of the drug for 3 to 8 days in pelvic infections such as acute pelvic peritonitis, post-abortive infection, puerperal infection and postoperative prophylactic use of cervical cancer and relatively good results and obtained in clinical and Iaboratory study.
